On 27 April 2026, as part of the Education for Victory #5 programme delivered in partnership with LSE IDEAS, participants visited the Palace of Westminster, the heart of British democracy and one of the key centres shaping international support for Ukraine.
The group held a cross-party discussion with members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, bringing firsthand perspectives on Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine from those working across the public sector, civil society, local government, and Ukrainian business.

The meeting was moderated by Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP, former leader of the Conservative Party. The discussion also featured Alex Sobel MP, Dame Priti Patel MP, Mark Francois MP, Lee Anderson MP, Clive Jones MP, Baron Darren Mott OBE, and other members of parliament representing a broad spectrum of British political parties.

Key topics on the agenda included the resilience of Ukrainian society, military innovation and Ukraine’s frontline experience, the role of civil society and local governance, economic cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, cultural diplomacy, and the continuation of the strategic partnership under the Ukraine-UK 100-Year Agreement.

Meetings such as this create vital space for direct dialogue, allowing international partners to hear Ukraine’s story from the people who live and work through it every day, building the country’s resilience and shaping its future.
