As part of the Education for Victory #5 programme, participants visited the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for a meeting focused on Ukraine’s recovery and long-term development.
During the session, participants engaged with EBRD representatives working across key areas including sustainable development, reforms, financing, and civil society support. The meeting brought together Henry Fletcher, Head of the Ukraine Hub; Harry Boyd-Carpenter, Managing Director for Sustainable Infrastructure; David Tyler, Head of Sector and Industry Group; Astrid Manroth, Deputy Director of the Blended Finance team; Illia Borovynskyi, Head of Civil Society Engagement; Jacqueline Henke, Analyst for Gender and Economic Inclusion; and Artem Shevalyov, Alternate Director on the Board of Directors representing Ukraine.

Discussions centred on sectoral reforms, blended finance mechanisms for Ukraine, infrastructure development, civil society support, and economic inclusion. These are precisely the kinds of initiatives that translate into practical solutions for Ukraine’s future and strengthen international cooperation in support of its recovery.

It is worth highlighting that the partnership with EBRD within Education for Victory #5 extended beyond this in-person visit. During the online learning component of the programme, EBRD representatives delivered a series of lectures sharing their approaches, solutions, and mechanisms for implementing initiatives across development, investment, and public sector transformation.
Meetings like this go beyond the exchange of experience. They help build a shared vision of a strong, modern, and resilient Ukraine.
